Three new plant-based meat mixes

Urban Accents will release three new soy-based products. Two are vegan and one is vegetarian (it includes honey).

The vegan flavors are:

  • Sweet Black Garlic Korean BBQ Lettuce Wraps (designed to be used in lettuce wraps)
  • Smokin’ Chipotle Tacos (designed to be used as part of tacos.)

The vegetarian flavor is Classic Honey BBQ Sloppy Joes. This is an ideal topping for a vegetarian burger.

Easy to make and a good source of vegan protein

Each of the packages provides an equivalent to a pound of ground meat. And, as an added bonus on a busy night, can go from pouch to plate in just 15 minutes.

There are simple, easy to follow instructions on the back of each pouch. You can also watch instructional videos that can be found via a QR code on the package.

Each pouch makes 4 to 5 servings. You’ll get 8 grams of protein per serving and 4 grams of fiber. Also, one serving contains 75% fewer calories and 100% less fat and cholesterol than ground beef.

First shelf-stable vegan meal kit available

These pouches are the first shelf-stable vegan meal kits. Tom Knibbs, President, and MixMaster at Urban Accents spoke in a statement, said: “Over the past few years, we noticed increased plant-based options in fast food and the frozen section of grocery stores. We decided to answer the need for innovation on the shelf. ” To find out more about their meatless mixes, watch their launch video.

Our vegan thoughts

We’re really excited about this product. One simple kit brings convenience and plant-based healthy eating together. And, it’s also packed with flavor. It’s suggested retail price is $4.99 per pouch, which makes it very affordable for families. The fact that it’s shelf-stable means that you can store it in on your pantry shelf for weeks without worrying about it going off.

This meatless meal kit will make plant-based eating more available to the masses. And, for those who have a tight budget, they will be able to buy high-quality plant-based protein. Being the first of its kind also means that more brands will start to follow Urban Accent’s lead. This will result in greater availability of plant-based meat options for everyone.
